Century Boys Win Again - North Dakota State Meet Recap 2019Published by
Century Boys Win Third Title In Four Years By Mary Albl of DyeStat Senior Nathan Kraft won the shot put (55-3) and discus (163-1) to guide the Century boys to a North Dakota State Track and Field Class A title, their third in the last four years on Saturday at the Bismarck Community Bowl. Century also added titles in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays. Legacy's Caleb Larson impressed in the sprints, winning the 100 (11.18), 200 (22.06) and 400 (48.23). In the girls Class A meet, the Fargo Davies girls flexed their muscles once again, putting up big numbers and winning the team title with 171 points. Junior Sally Korgho led the way winning the 100 hurdles (15.20) and 300 hurdles (44.74). In the distance events, Jamestown's Meghan Ford won the 1,600 (4:55.24), the 3,200 (10:52.36) and finished in fourth in the 800 (2:15.99). In Class B, the Kindred boys edged out New Town, 71.5 to 56 win capture the team title. Individually, senior Isaac Huber of Edgeley/Kulm completed the distance trifecta, winning the 800 (1:56.13), 1,600 (4:17.58) and 3,200 (9:27.89). Rugby sophomore Brooke Blessum helped guide her team to a state title, winning the long jump (17-03.50) placing runner-up in the triple jump (36-4.50), third in the pole vault (9 feet) and fourth in the high jump (4-11). Thompson senior Lana Krack swept the distance events, winning the 800 (2:18.21), 1,600 (5:04.38) and 3,200 (11:08).
